First job teaching and coaching - Johnstown High School
Came to Prospect Park High School in 1939
- There for four years before leaving for military service (WWII)
- Won Delco Football A & B Championship in 1942
Spent three years in U.S. Naval Aviation in World War II
- Most of stint in Guam
- Named DelCo's VFW Man of the Year
Came to Swarthmore High School in 1946
- Coached all sports - football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, volleyball
- Coached 10 undefeated or championship football teams with 2 streaks of 28 straight victories (170-80-8)
- Started coaching lacrosse program at high school in '46
- Started Summer Lacrosse League in '52
- Strath Haven High School established Lacrosse Sportsmanship Award in his honor
- Delco Coach of the year in '42 and '48
- Co-authored high school health textbook - Health and Safety for High School Students
- Fraternal Order of Police Man of the Year award
- "Honorary life time membership for work with youth in organizing activities of annual DelCo Safety Patrol Outing"
- "Developed program of drug education in public schools"
- "Pioneered program of student visitation to the County Prison to promote better understanding of law enforcement, the role of the prison and the judicial system"
- Head coach of M.S. Hope Chest All-Star Football Game
- Director/Manager of Swarthmore Swim Club for 17 years
- Provided leadership for DelCo American Cancer Society Swim-A-Thon raising average of $12,000 a year
- Presented "Cancer Crusade Swim-A-Thon" award
- Presented Honorary Citizen Award by Borough of Swarthmore
- Retired in 1972 after 26 years
